If daily Haight Street life gives you gnarly hippie flashbacks, you may want to stay indoors on August 3rd -- otherwise known as Jerry Day. A big bash is planned for the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater (duh) on that Sunday. Then the following week, on August 9, there's "Don't Let Go - A musical tribute to Jerry Garcia" at Cafe du Nord that includes a Dead cover band. Can't say I plan on making any of the Dead parties (four years at UC Santa Cruz was scarring enough as it is) but perhaps the Feds will join in the fun. After all, the FBI were devout followers of both Jerry and the Grateful Dead as a whole. -- Jennifer Maerz
