Notes and Photos by Josh Geiser

In order to make it out to this show I had to take a 2 hour bus ride from the middle of Sonoma County. The ride was pretty comfortable, but I am positive I was the only one who was wearing deodorant, or had bothered to take a shower that week.

"Strangely Mannered" is a four person group show currently at the Gallery 1988 on Sutter and Polk. The exhibition features work by Travis Louie, Scott Scheidly, Joe Vaux and Brandt Peters. The artwork all looks amazing, and I was also able to chat with Travis Louie about his work and how he pulls off his mind-blowing portraits - which you have to see in person to fully understand just how special they are.

The show runs till August 9th, so if you can, try to make it out there. Seeing art in person is a must, and even worth a two hour smelly bus ride.
