DJ Shadow Buys James Brown's Stuff

Yesterday's NY Times featured an article on the recent auction of James Brown's clothing and personal items ("More Tag Sale Than Tribute"). Listed among the bidders was the Bay's own DJ Shadow, who kept an eye out for "items that predated the 1970s."
“He was my idol,” said Josh Davis, better known as DJ Shadow. Among the bargains Mr. Davis scored was an $800 bid for a silver-plated tray awarded to commemorate Brown’s 1965 hit “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag.” The tray had been estimated to sell for as much as $3,000.
