Deerhoof: Leaking Music Between the Sheets
Prefix mag today posted this YouTube video of Deerhoof's creative take on preventing music piracy. On this video, created for WNYC, Deerhoof explains that for every band attempting to put out music, the issue of songs leaking early/no one buying the record comes up. So by "leaking the platonic abstract, ideal version in sheet music" they're one step ahead of the game. From there the video gets increasingly clever, as random people attempt their "versions" of the band's experimental songs.--Jennifer Maerz
