Air Guitar is such a popular pastime in San Francisco that the national qualifying event at the Independent on June 25 is way sold out. But for those who want to see the local contestants work a little magic, clubs editor John Graham passed along that there's an Air Guitar pre-funk at Marina watering hole Bar None on Tuesday, June 24. The national finals, the contest deciding who gets to play an invisible instrument all the way to the world championships in Finland, is at the Grand Ballroom in S.F. August 9. -- Jennifer Maerz
