RoboGames, Sylvia Ji, Dale Chihuly and The Matches - Your Monday Morning Hangover

All Shook Down's weekend started earlier than usual with the 5th annual RoboGames -the world’s largest robot competition- at Fort Mason on Friday afternoon. Eddie Paik witnessed the robotic carnage and watched as the crowd delighted in seeing thousand-dollar homemade machines crashing into each other in the arena. Full review and photos here.

Saturday afternoon found Catherine McCulloch waiting over four hours to get into the new Dale Chihuly exhibit at de Young museum. But oh boy was it ever worth it. Chihuly's once again outdone himself, and visitors were treated to rooms overflowing with blown glass landscapes. Check out Catherine's photos of the amazing scenery here.

Juxtapoz was excited about Sylvia Ji's opening exhibit and so was our Eddie Paik, who spent Saturday evening basking in Ji's surreal take on youthful beauty and death. Read his photo-studded notes here. Eddie also interviewed Ji - so check back for that Q&A later on.

Our husband-wife photo team of Mike and Jenny Cash spent Saturday night at the Fillmore where they rocked out to The Matches, Scissors for Lefty and Brilliant Red Lights. Scissors loved tumbling to the ground and the crowd was veeery excited about the headliners. See more of Mike and Jen's fabulous shots here.

Sunday was pretty mellow for Ariel Soto, who strolled around North Beach for a swing dancing and free-sample filled festival. We're still a little freaked out by that dude in the string cheese costume (pictured). Read the photographer's notes and flip through her slides here. This is all. --Janine Kahn
