RATM's Tom Morello Stumps for Cindy Sheehan Next Saturday at Fat City
Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello packs away his effects pedals, picks up his acoustic guitar, and dons his Night Watchman uniform when he brings his "one man revolution" to San Francisco on Saturday, June 28. The cause at hand? Famed war protestor Cindy Sheehan's bid for U.S. Congress. Morello's solo acoustica may not be the second coming of Woody Guthrie — and I'm pretty sure Morello's "machine" (either his guitar or his old band, take yer pick) hasn't killed any fascists lately — but there's no denying the political passion behind songs like "Battle Hymns," "Union Song," or "House Gone Up in Flames." Regional rockers Malcontent, folkie Travis "Slow Trucks" Bilenski, and spoken-word agitator Eric Victorino provide support. The entry fee is a $20+ donation to the Sheehan campaign and advance tickets can be purchased at Sheehan's website. — J. Graham
