Who needs the Strokes when you have Albert Hammond Jr. making such great music all on his lonesome? The afroed Strokes guitarist put out a sweet mash note of a record in 2006's Yours To Keep. That album stripped out all the Strokes' cool-kid posturing and placed Hammond's heart right on his sleeve. It was like his main band had lightened up and fallen into crush mode. Hammond is set to release his next record, Como Te Llama? July 8. If the first single, "GfC" is any indication, Hammond has another batch of sugary pop goodies on the way.
