Although Will "Fresh Prince" Smith may get the 50-foot billboards and all that Hollywood summer-blockbuster bullshit, for those in the know, his old hitmaking partner — DJ Jazzy Jeff — remains a legend in turntable circles. Impeccable scratch technique combined with just as impeccable taste (e.g., he was executive producer for Jill Scott's debut disc) rank Jazzy Jeff near the top of hip-hop's all-time DJ/producer pantheon. The West Philly native brings his style and vinyl to 330 Ritch this Friday for an event (ironically titled) "Born and Raised" in S.F.; visit the club's website for tix and info. But don't dawdle. This gig's bound to sell out. — J. Graham
