With the second weekend in May approaching you may feel distraught about the terrible weather. Each day seems filled with frigid wind (eliminating picnic potential) and the nights aren't warm enough to do anything awesome -- except hit up some of the great shows coming this weekend. Here are the suggested activities to fill the freezing weekend:

Friday night skank the night away at Slim's with ska favorites the Slackers from New York City. The show starts at nine and tickets are $15. If you prefer "rock lobster" or "the love shack," head to the Independent for the legendary B-52s. Though if you don't have tickets, tough luck. The show is sold out. Other evening options include Friday night festivities at the de Young Museum. They promise "a variety of interdisciplinary arts programs, including live music, poetry, films, dance, tours, and lectures. The cafe is open with a special Friday Nights dinner menu, and a no-host cocktail bar is serving drinks. There are art-making activities for everyone."

As usual, there are tons of things to do Saturday night. The Fillmore presents Minneapolis rockers Tapes n Tapes. They play a delightful live show and tickets are $18.50. If you're lookin' for a laugh, Kids in the Hall are crackin' jokes at the War Memorial. If you can drive to San Jose, don't miss diva lady Alicia Keys at the HP Pavilion. If you dig the music/art/fashion scene then the Chillin' 10 Year Anniversary at the Mezzanine is the place for you. They promise 60 fashion designers, 100 painters/photographers, 40 filmmakers and 10 DJs. The event starts at 8 pm and only costs $7.

If you are a male and like spanking, there is an unbelievable event made just for you -- the San Francisco Men's Spanking Party. Their website says: "This is a Male only event. (Gay, Bi or Straight) Must 18 years of age or older with a valid photo ID. Normally on the 2nd Sunday of each month at The Power Exchange 74 Otis Street San Francisco CA from 1pm to 7pm. Entrance fee is $20. 1/2 price with Student or Military ID This is not an S&M Leather Group. But more for guys into the Traditional Old Fashion Spanking over Daddy’s Knee or Fraternity Style Initiation Pledge Paddling. This is a safe environment for beginners looking to explore their Spanking Fantasies or just a good place to meet and talk to other guys into this Spanking and Paddling fetish." Hell yeah. As for evening events (and events from ladies and men), San Francisco Opera's the Little Prince is wrapping up at Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley. It sounds amazing, so catch it before it wraps up.

There you are, your weekend hitlist. Now get out there and have some fun. - Melissa Baron
