(Tapes 'N Tapes)

Ok, so if you're keeping track of the all the big music festivals coming to town this summer, here's what we have so far: BFD, Paid Dues, Outside Lands, Rock the Bells, Treasure Island, and, just announced, the return of Download. That last one leaves the Jack Johnsons of the circuit on the wayside and instead goes straight for the Pitchfork-approved acts: Atmosphere with Brother Ali, Brand New, Mute Math, Yeasayer, M83, The Whigs, Tapes N' Tapes, RJD2, Cut Copy, Datarock, Flosstradamus, The Duke Spirit, Blitzen Trapper, Louis XIV, The Airborne Toxic Event Vedera, William Fitzsimmons, De Novo Dahl, Parlor Mob, Mates of State. All in all, a bit of the hip-hop, a bit of the indie rock, a bit of the crap (Louis XIV?), but at $20 a pop, a pretty sweet deal. Atmosphere alone is a supremely entertaining performer. Download goes down on Saturday, July 19, at Shoreline. -- Jennifer Maerz
