Beach Beer Babylon at the Riptide tonight

If you're going out drinking on such a hot summer night, you might as well plant yourself within walking distance of the beach. The Riptide is one of my favorite bars in town -- and not just on days when I pretend I'm a surfer. Their DJs know their old school rock 'n' roll, and their regulars bring their dogs in to eat your pizza scraps off the floor. Tonight the bar has a cheesy theme (ladies' night) but what the hell, I'll take that dollar off my drinks. It's worth the short stumble to the sand at the end of the night.-- Jennifer Maerz
