Temple Nightclub owners launch record label
Not content to host a restaurant (Prana) and a nightclub (Temple) in San Francisco, Zen Compound is now launching a record label, Temple Music Group, in May. In a press release promising "cutting edge electronic music," Zen Compound mapped out plans to spread the new tunes through its various venues, and to also offer its soundtracks to "local art galleries, yoga studios and coffeehouses." Its first release, Prana Vol. 1, sounds a bit hippie dippie in concept [It "reflects the variety of cultural influences the restaurant's globally-inspired cuisine embraces."] It's produced by JaswhO, whose tracks range from "down-tempo electronica to tribal house." The local acts on the comp will include Tracey Amos, Paul Hemming, the Caren Hope Project and Kirin and Chloe Jarvis. -- Jennifer Maerz
