Rock n roll with a patio
Whenever you've got a sunny San Francisco day like today, the idiot line for Zeitgeist goes down the block. But you've just got to remember there are other bars with outdoor patios beyond 14th and Valencia. A couple other standbys include the Irish Bank, the Pilsner, and my new favorite outta the way dive, Broken Record.
I'm never in the Excelsior District, so forgive my lateness on this one...but Broken Record's a dream destination on a hot day. Cozy patio, good liquor selection, great bartenders, and a bit of quiet away from the rest of the downtown insanity. Plus, for all you carnivores, they have sausages packed with crazy kinds of meat that, like the bar, are also way off the beaten path. And, of course, Broken Record has a great jukebox. -- Jennifer Maerz
