Live 105's summer concert lineup lacks luster this year
(MGMT's "Electric Feel")
For the past couple summers, Live 105's BFD has offered plenty of reasons to make the Shoreline haul--from Queens of the Stone Age to TV on the Radio to the Shins and Muse. This year, though, the station's claim on hosting "the summers' biggest music extravaganza" is questionable, given a lineup swiped from the Warped Tour: Cypress Hill, Pennywise, Flogging Molly, Alkaline Trio, Everlast, and Anti-Flag, among others. Much more interesting is the "Subsonic tent," which will host "the next M.I.A." Santogold, electro giants MSTRKRFT, local hero Lyrics Born, and tons of San Franisco DJs. The event, which goes down Saturday, June 7 at Shoreline Amphitheatre, goes up for your ticket dollars against the summer's other big music blowouts--namely Outside Lands and Treasure Island Music Festival, both of which take place towards the end of the summer.
The full BFD lineup includes:Cypress Hill, Pennywise, Flogging Molly, Alkaline Trio, The Kooks, Everlast, Anti-Flag, MGMT, Atreyu, Airborne Toxic Event, Flobots, Whigs and Middle Class Rut on the main stage; Moby, Mstrkrft, DJ AM, Santogold, Steve Aoki, Lyrics Born, Mike Relm, Playradioplay, DJ Omar, Richard Oh, Hot Tub, and DJ Miles from Live 105 on the second stage; and a local music stage with The Phenomenauts, Love Like Fire, Here Here, Magic Bullets, Apside, The Hundred Days, Federalists and Action Design. More info at Live 105's website (and the cost is the price of a regular show--$10.53). -- Jennifer Maerz
