(((folkYEAH!))) consistently books cool shows in memorable locations, from Entrance at the Fernwood Lodge in Big Sur to Om at the "haunted" Brookdale Lodge in near Santa Cruz. Britt Govea, the brains behind these gigs, knows city kids from the Bay Area and L.A. eagerly travel to his singular events, which are the perfect mix of scenic vacation and mind-bending folk, rock, and metal acts. For this upcoming Memorial Day weekend, though, the guy has curated a coastal blowout that starts Friday in Big Sur, moves to Brookdale on Saturday, and returns to San Francisco Sunday.

The one constant between the shows is the headliner—Germany’s legendary experimentalists Cluster, who will perform as a duo all three nights, returning to California for the first time in 15 years. With supporting acts ranging from the ambient (Arp) to the drone-friendly (Wooden Shjips) to warped electro-pop (Ariel Pink, Tussle), you can’t loose with any of (((folkYEAH!)))’s lineups that weekend. See full lineups below, or hit up (((folkYEAH!))) for more info. – Jennifer Maerz
