VAN HALEN EXTENDS HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 22, 2008) - Due to overwhelming fan demand, VAN HALEN announced today that they will extend their critically acclaimed North American concert tour into May 2008. The expanded trek will take Eddie Van Halen, David Lee Roth, Alex Van Halen and Wolfgang Van Halen to 15 additional cities throughout the U.S. and Canada, bringing fans one of the most successful concert tours in recent memory.
A very special stop for VAN HALEN on this tour, a charity event which the band will headline for Tiger Woods' annual event, Tiger Jam XI, will be held in Las Vegas, NV at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Saturday, April 19th. Woods will introduce the band as they help raise funds for the Tiger Woods Foundation and select Las Vegas-based charities. Las Vegas tickets go on sale February 16.
Music fans and the press have responded to Van Halen's 2007/2008 tour with passionate fanfare. "For more than two hours, the gods delivered," said Rolling Stone. Playboy magazine recently awarded VAN HALEN as Best Live Act of 2007 in its annual Music Poll in the March 2008 issue.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1974, the band has always been known for their electrifying live shows. From the moment they released their self-titled 1978 debut album, VAN HALEN shook the foundations of rock, thanks largely to Roth's peerless showmanship, Eddie Van Halen's revolutionary guitar virtuosity and their songwriting abilities. Their music has change rock and roll forever.
