The Lowbrow Art Sale: Eric White, David Stoupakis & Brian Despain

Eric White "The One"
one_ericwhite.jpg
A surrealist painter out of New York, Eric White has been creating these mind-blowing paintings for quite some time. The skill that you can see radiating from every one of his paintings is truly impressive. His work is inspired by alternate realities, surreal visions that aren't always laden with pop imagery. The hair in this painting really blows me away. I love how you can't really see her face in this piece, it really trips me out. This is a signed and numbered giclee print, in an edition of 40.

Brian Despain "The Discovery"

He has been a graphic designer, 3d artist, photo-retoucher as well as illustrator. One thing is for sure, Brian Despain makes one amazing fine artist. This piece started as a post-it note and then ended up this dynamic piece after much work, apparently he thought it looked too much like Plankton from Spongebob Squarepants. Brian is currently in a group show at Roq La Rue in Seattle. The print is signed and numbered in an edition of 30. There are two other prints available as well just in case you another one of them hits you better.

David Stoupakis "Fawn"

It's been way too long since I have been able to show a print from this amazing artist. He finally has released a new print, and this one was well worth the wait. The model in the image is David's girlfriend/model Aprella. I really love this image, the colors are amazing as well as the glow the painting seems to have. This print is hand signed and numbered on archival paper, it's limited to 100. I really can't imagine this print lasting too long as the price is very affordable.

Femke Hiemstra "Peep"

A Dutch Illustrator, Femke Hiemstra has been in exhibitions all over the world. She currently has some work being shown in a group show at Roq La Rue along with Brian Despain. This print is sold out on her site but a few of them are left at the Crybaby Gallery in New Jersey. It's a great image based on Lil Bo Peep, I do wish the image was bigger to see the words on it (sorry). This print is 10" x 10" and is unframed.

Egil Paulsen "Journey"

An illustrator out of Norway, Egil is a digital artist that has been published in many magazines and is having a show in Romania very soon. Even though his work is digital he really does a great job of making the work look like natural media. This piece specifically was done in pencils and then colored in photoshop. It's a great image, the clouds in the back look perfect. I really have hard time seeing that this is digital art.
