Why? Covers The Cure in Free MP3

As if those Why? boys weren't busy enough with their recent Hollows EP and the upcoming full-length, Alopecia, they've gone ahead and covered The Cure's "Close to Me." And it's not one of those lame covers that still kinda sounds like the O.G. They've totally slathered their "Why?" sound all over it. Download it here, then read what good ol' PR has to say. 2008 is the year of WHY?. The Oakland-based group will release its finest album to date, Alopecia on March 11 and around the same time they'll launch their biggest headlining tour to date, playing shows with pals like Br. Danielson, Cryptacize, Panther, YACHT, Mount Eerie and anticon labelmates Son Lux. WHY? will also be hitting up SXSW for the first time in several years, including a stop at our own Force Field PR / Terrorbird day party at Emo's on March 12. WHY? released The Hollows EP in late 2007 to rave reviews, the EP featured remixes from Boards of Canada, Dntel and cover versions of older WHY? material from Xiu Xiu, Islands, Dump and Half-Handed Cloud. We've included their cover of The Cure's "Close To Me" as a special treat for you, there are no plans currently for this song to appear on any proper releases.
