Chronicle Turkey Team Cook-Off: The Fame! The Glory! The Leftovers!

Although cooking a turkey for Chronicle food critic Michael Bauer ranks very low on my list of enjoyable ways to spend Thanksgiving, there are surely some competitive home cooks out there eager to prove their mettle, and now is their chance. The Chronicle's Turkey Training Camp and Turkey Team Cook-Off is currently accepting entries for the November 4th showdown in the Chronicle test kitchen.

And what kind of amazing prizes are up for grabs, you ask? Oh, too bad: "Winners will receive prizes to enhance their own Thanksgiving dinners." What the fuck, Chronicle? We know you've fallen on hard times recently, but this is crazy. It makes me wonder if maybe this whole contest is just a ruse to get free Thanksgiving dinner for the newsroom. Not a bad idea.
