Halo 3 Hysteria
For the past few months, we at ASD have been dying with anticipation for the impending release of Halo 3. As bad as the itch has been, we've gone apeshit after checking out the new "Believe" ad campaign that features a ridiculously impressive diorama depicting the battle of New Mombasa. Known as the "John-117 Monument," the massive battle scene was hand-sculpted by Hollywood special effects team Stan Winston Studio, who are responsible for creating such memorable creatures as those in Jurassic Park, Predator, and just about every fucking awesome movie ever made. No wonder this ad inspires such a huge fanboner.
The pixelated YouTube video does the diorama absolutely no justice, so peep hi-res versions of the ad here, as well as a "making of" video of sorts. And if the commercial isn't enough, you can actually explore the virtual 3-D monument at Halo 3's official site.-p
