Buffy Musical In SF: What the Deally Yo?
SF Weekly staff writer Mary Spicuzza harbors a deep dark secret. Let us in, Mary. -d2
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was my hero. Sure she was pretty and petite (and had an amazing shoe collection) and all, but Buffy never let that get in the way of kicking the ass of every evil creature who crossed her path.
The series may be over, but the power of the Slayer and her Scooby gang lives on in The Buffy Musical: Once More, With Feeling. This is one of the best Buffy shows of all time--not that I’ve watched every episode multiple times and own all ...
seven seasons on DVD or anything.
Anyhow, Once More, With Feeling is coming to the big screen in San Francisco. In the show, a new demon arrives forcing Buffy, her bad-boy love interest Spike, and the whole town of Sunnydale to sing out their inner feelings. But the Bridge Theater on Friday and Saturday nights (Sept. 21 and 22, at midnight), it’s the audience who gets to belt out the brilliant songs--which were written by series creator Joss Whedon.
We also hear rumors that before the show, there will even be a Buffy-oke contest, Buffy trivia, and prizes. --Mary Spicuzza
