ASD's resident art expert Josh from Creep Machine comes correct with another Tuesday installment of visual awesomeness. Peep game. -p

Mark Ryden "Bunnies & Bees"
markryden_bunniesandbees.jpg
In one of the first weeks that I wrote this column, I wrote about a Mark Ryden print. This time it's not one, but 14 prints. This microportfolio contains prints from his "Bunnies & Bees" show, all 8"x10" prints. I bought one of these little portfolios that he seldom puts out and they are amazing. The quality is very nice-- it's almost a good idea to buy two of them. One to keep safe and one to frame certain prints and show off. This set is from an edition of 10,000 and comes in a Japanese silk covered box.

Shawn Barber "Portrait of the Artist, Tara McPherson"
shawnbarber_tara.jpg
This piece is one of his many "tattooed portraits" series. He finds artists who are adorned with tattoos and paints them. He most notably did a painting of Kat Von D that was shown on the reality show Miami Ink. This specific piece is of Tara McPherson, who I talked about in a prior week. Barber has an amazing painting style-- very brushy, but nice and tight when it comes to the details. His colors are amazing, and the way he renders the tattoos shows this is something he is very passionate about. This prints looks amazing, very strong watercolor paper, signed and numbered from an edition of 50.

Alberto Cerriteno "The Dream"
cerriteno_dream.jpg
An illustrator and animator out of Portland, Oregon, Alberto will often create works that are either digital or paintings. He currently has a show going on at the Grassy Knoll Gallery in Portland. He has a very colorful style, and makes some pretty wacky characters. It really blows me away that he is able to make the digital pieces so vivid and striking, and when you look at his paintings, you can see the same style and attention put onto those. This is another print from BlueFlip Art, and this print will donate some money to "Artists for the Arts."

Michael Slack "Yara ma yha who"
michaelslack_yaramayhawho.jpg
An award winning artist who has created characters for children's educational games and also illustrations for Time, Nickelodeon and others. He's had his animation shown internationally, as well as on Noggin TV. He has a very unique style-- his colors and style almost reminds me of Alberto's work above. Although you can see that Michael is a tad more twisted Check out that poor little kid's legs just dangling out of the monster's mouth. He has accepted his fate, might as well not struggle and just let it happen eh? Limited to only 20 prints.

AttaBoy "20 Qwezshuns"
attaboy_20qwezshuns.jpg
I have talked about Attaboy, artist and editor of Hi-Fructose, before and wanted to choose his new work as the first vinyl collectibe toy on my weekly rants. This series of toys he put out is pretty special. There will only ever be 20 of them, and each one is unique. The box that they come in is hand made with unique handpainted lid, and the toy is, of course, hand painted as well. So i'm sure you get that each one of these toys is basically a painted piece of art, not a mass produced machine created collectible. So this makes them pretty desirable, as well as going fast. He is putting them out in chunks, so when the first chunk is bought up he'll post the next. Head on over and make sure you can get one.
