MP3 of the Day: 'Touch Up', Mother Mother
![]()
America's Next Top Model made my girlfriend dye her hair raven black over the weekend. She looks ravishing, if a bit serious now; like she might vampire-bite my neck at any moment. Anyway, Vancouver five-piece Mother Mother captures feminine makeover motivation perfectly in their song "Touch Up" from their early 2007 release "Touch Up" . The sound is a little indie, a little country, and a little twee (making it "indie-coun-twee"), though their MySpace lists them as "other/other". Two girls on vocals, plus some guitar, drums and bass is all they really need. Check it out here. Then download Polynesia and Dirty Town (Thanks for hosting, Yeti Don't Dance). -d2
P.S. Please come back to SF, Mother. We missed you the first time around.
