Chow Nasty gets arty with The Party's Over

One doesn’t normally associate San Francisco’s playful funksters Chow Nasty with serious behavior. But bassist Joey Enos is nonetheless convinced that “The Party’s Over” -- at least when it comes to the theme for his new art show at gallery Mission 17. Enos and photographer Craig Doty have put together a buzzed-about collection (or at least well-fliered at last night’s First Thursday gallery crawl) that opens tonight and deals with the aftermath of excessive bacchanalia. Judging from the colorful sculptures and photographs we spied, though, the pieces involved in this show are anything but grim. The “Party” starts tonight, from 6 to 9 p.m., and the show continues through July 14.
