La Cocina's Online Auction Fundraiser: Bid and Win Before Friday

Categories: Events

Baller, indeed. Shot-caller, even.
San Francisco should be pretty familiar with La Cocina by now. The organization helps (primarily) low-income female immigrant entrepreneurs jumpstart their food businesses. Guisel Osorio is a recent success story, opening up her Chilean café Sabores del Sur in Walnut Creek last month. Azalina Eusope is another, with her brick-and-mortar Malaysian restaurant scheduled to debut later this fall in the Twitter building.

Being a non-profit, La Cocina sustains itself with a variety of methods including catering services, gift boxes, and a little 'ole street food festival held every year. But there's another exciting way they're simultaneously fundraising and connecting with the community: their online auction.

There are some pretty sweet items you can bid on, including dinner for two at Chez Panisse, a signed Anthony Bourdain book set, and a "Baller Version" of dinner and a show that includes a $100 gift certificate to NOPA and two VIP tickets to a show at The Independent.

The auction is live now and ends Friday, May 16th; all proceeds go to La Cocina's program. Click here to bid FTW.
