Tango & Stache Popping Up For Tacos All Day at the New Melange Market

Facebook/Melange Market
Melange Market is the new cafe at ODC Theater at 17th and Shotwell from the folks behind AQ and TBD, peddling De La Paz coffee, pastries from AQ's pastry chef Maya Erickson, beer and wine, and a rotating cast of pop-ups. Today (Fruday)
you can check out the new space (which has cafe lights and an adorable "curtain" made of vintage eggbeaters) while eating bahn mi tacos courtesy of Josh Wilder Oakley at Tango & Stache

Oakley, who makes his own stellar tortillas even though we neglected to mention him in our our handmade tortilla roundup last week, will be making two tacos tomorrow: a meat version with buttermilk tortillas, crispy Campari-braised pork belly, jalapenos, and scallions; and a vegetarian version made with melted green garlic and fennel with roasted potatoes and mushrooms, garnished with shaved asparagus. Rounding out the menu is a beet tartine with feta and pistachios; cranberry red bean and cabbage soup with smoked ham hock and Wild Turkey Rye Whiskey; and a salad of chicories and roasted cauliflower with Aperol vinaigrette.

Tango & Stache

Tango & Stache will be there every Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. On the other days of the week, Melange will have housemade English muffins in the morning and sandwiches at lunch. The Castro's fancy new Bespoke Doughnuts will be popping up on Saturday mornings starting March 1.

That taco bears zero resemblance to banh mi.
