It's Not Too Late: 7 Places to Order a Tasty Super Bowl Spread
Just admit it: You don't want to put in the kitchen time to make Super Bowl snacks for your guests (or to make something to bring to a shindig), especially since the Niners aren't in the running anymore. And that's okay, because you live in San Francisco, where great food is a phone call and a few bucks away. Whether you're craving wings, fried chicken, tacos, barbecue, or something else entirely, some of the city's best have got you covered.
Wing Wings: Of course S.F.'s popular chicken wing purveyor has a plan for Sunday. Pre-order packs of 25 wings ($28; includes your choice of two sauces including buffalo, Angry Korean, Wing Wings, barbecue, and dry rub), or order 50-wing party packs with two sides ($70; coleslaw, potato salad or macaroni salad) or six biscuits ($68). Sandwich packs, pigs in a blanket, and more options are available.
4505 Meats: It's not a party until you serve this beloved butcher's "Magic Bacon Bombs," aka bacon-wrapped jalapenos stuffed with chorizo queso. Smoked wings, chorizo queso, and more treats await when you head to the Mission shop or the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market stand on Saturday. The shop will also be open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday.
Tango & Stache: Get in your orders by 8 p.m. tonight for eight pieces of Joshua Wilder Oakley's buttermilk-brined fried chicken (his grandmother's recipe), a quart of spicy slaw, a side of pickled veggies, and Flaco's fire sauce, delivered to your door ($35, plus refundable $13 bucket deposit). Deliveries only to San Francisco. Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Deli Board: At least 24 hours notice is required for delivered catering orders of this SoMa deli's delectable sandwiches ($120 for 10 people; $180 for 15). You can also order salad platters ($70-$130) or a tray of breakfast burritos to get the day started ($75-$105). Check out the latest catering menu and email email@example.com to place your order.
Salumeria: Super Bowl catering options from this Mission deli include hot links for six ($60), and party packages in three sizes (6-8 people, $125; 10-15 people, $250; 15-20 people, $450). These include charred scallion and avocado dip, salami and cheese boards, hot links, and, in some of the bigger packages, pork chili with cornbread. You can even get a 12-pack of Hamm's beer ($12). Order on Eventbrite for pickup on Saturday (3-6 p.m.).
Tacolicious: The Valencia location of the taco chain is hosting a big party on-site with all-you-can-eat tacos and nachos (and all-you-can-drink beer and margs) for $75 per person, but you can bring the party to you with a DIY taco bar ($12/person) or a make-your-own nacho pack for 12 ($58; $66 with chicken, carnitas, or beef). Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hi-Lo BBQ: $175 will get you a barbecue feast for six to eight people, which includes a rack of ribs, a pound each of brisket and pulled pork, three sides, sausages, and a dozen rolls. Place your order by 2 p.m. on Saturday.
