Soon-to-be-opened Russian Hill restaurant Stone's Throw is teaming up with Uber to offer a discount to folks who used the car-sharing service to get there, reports Eater SF. The company has run similar deals in other cities before, but not in S.F., and Stones Throw general manager Ryan Cole approached the service to see about a partnership out of concern about the atrocious parking situation in the neighborhood.

Right now Cole's thinking maybe a five percent discount on a meal, but hasn't firmed up the particulars. Still, as he points out to Eater, five percent on a $200 meal could cover the cost of a ride to the restaurant. Uber has used its cars to deliver tamales from the Tamale Lady and free ice cream in the past, so this food-oriented promotion isn't totally out of its wheelhouse.

The restaurant, from the owners of Fat Angel in the Fillmore, should be open in November if all goes well.

Well, they have to do something. $50 to go 5 miles is not ok.
