D'Urso Deli Now Juicing It Up by the Ballpark

If you're a tech drone and you look inside the fridge, what do you see? Probably a lot of sugar-free Red Bull and Coke Zero and maybe a bottle of Dom someone is chilling for when Google buys you.

In other words, not a lot of vitamins. So if you work in SoMa and maybe forget your Flintstones Chewables one day, D'Urso Deli can now provide more than your lunchtime sandwich. It's hawking an array of juices and smoothies, and better yet, there's a new industrial-chic parklet just outside to slurp them down in.

The House Special (carrot, orange, strawberry and lemon) and the Beet Life (carrot, beet and ginger) are the antidote to a cracked-out day of coding. Create your own from any of D'Urso's four flavors or go for a smoothie, like a Mango Tango with shredded coconut.

At $6.50 for 16 ounces, the price might be a little hefty, but what price immortality, really? (Plus, Saison is a block away, so it's all relative.) Get a shot of wheatgrass for $1.50 and chortle to yourself.

D'Urso Deli and Juice Bar, 236 Townsend St., (415) 369-9442.
