If you're looking to fight the good fight while feasting on decadent dishes-- and really, who isn't -- look no further than San Francisco Social's June 7th benefit dinner at Foreign Cinema in the Mission.

Benefiting Larkin Street Youth Services, an organization providing housing, medical, social and educational services to runaway, homeless and at-risk youth, this year's soiree will feature a reception, a three-course dinner, a speech by Supervisor Scott Weiner, and an after-party at Laszlo.

Last year, San Francisco Social raised $75,000 for Larkin Street who boasts an impressive track record; more than 70,000 youth have received support to date with three out of four kids exiting street life upon completing the programming.

While Foreign Cinema prides itself on a daily changing menu of Mediterranean/California-inspired cuisine, we got some first-hand insight into the kind of dishes that might be whipped up this weekend for party-going philanthropists.

For starters, you might find something light and fruity featuring the likes of gem lettuces, avocado, baby beets, and Valencia oranges drizzled in Champagne-peach dressing. As for the entree, expect something cleverly textured and chock full of fresh vegetables. In the past wild king salon and crispy prosciutto have shared a plate with English pea puree, fava beans, and salsa verde.

Even Southern-influenced fare has reared its head including poppy seed fried chicken, celery root remoulade, spiced baby carrots, and pickled cabbage. Carnivores might find grilled Kobe bavette steak, roasted fingerlings, spring ramp puree, radicchio and horseradish butter.

For dessert? Try the ruby grapefruit granita (a sorbet-like concoction) or an apricot raspberry turnover with huckleberry caramel.

Former Bachelor star and the newest San Francisco Social board member, Ben Flajnik, will be providing the wine choices for the meal which will include: Envolve Sparkling; Epilogue Chardonnay; Raymond Merlot; Kamen Writers Block; and Benziger Cab.

"The San Francisco Social is inspiring a new generation of young philanthropists who will be critical in supporting our community for decades to come," said founder Anderson Pugash in a release. "These young people were dealt a bad hand, and most have slipped through or fallen outside of the system; we are proud to help Larkin Street in their efforts to give them the opportunity for a brighter future."

Cheers to that.
