Don't Let L.A. Win: Vote For Your Favorite Bay Area Chef in Food & Wine's New Contest
We know, you're just dying to know who Food & Wine magazine will pick as their Best New Chef in the California category this year. Get a sneak peek at the finalists, as well as a chance to participate in the democratic process, in the new People's Choice category. Vote for your favorite among the 10 finalists between March 11 and March 18 for a chance for them to win the coveted The People's Best New Chef 2013 title.

Of course, this is one of those situations that always tests our altruism -- we want our favorites to win, obvs, and have all the bragging rights that come with it, but also we don't want our favorite restaurants to be even harder to get into than they are right now.
But remember that Bay Area chefs are up against a handful of talented folks from Los Angeles, and in our mind, keeping L.A. from showing us up is even more important than eating McNaughton's ethereal pasta or the Rich Table sardine chips with regularity. So we say, vote local.
