Zagat Names State Bird Provisions and Mission Chinese "Hottest Restaurants in the World"
Well, well, well, it seems that the hype for hometown favorites State Bird Provisions and Mission Chinese Food isn't going to stop with the new year. Zagat just published a list of the "The 10 Hottest Restaurants in the World," and both SBP and MCF (the New York iteration, but still) are on it, at no.'s 8 and 6 respectively.

The restaurants squeak ahead of other U.S. hot spots like The Parish in L.A. and Grace in Chicago, but the top five spots on the list are all dedicated to Europe (two of them in Sweden). Still, it's nice to see S.F. so well represented -- congrats you guys! -- though, selfishly, we're a little sad about it, knowing that this kind of relentless hype ensures that we'll never get a walk-in seat at State Bird Provisions ever again.
