Top Chefs and Restaurants Come Together for Two Charitable Events
Share Our Strength Dinner
Wine and Wishes
Where: Spruce, 3640 Sacramento (at Spruce), 931-5100
When: Tues., Jan. 22, 6 p.m.
The rundown: Give us the chance to see celeb chefs (including Food Network alum Amanda Freitag) and taste a sweet chocolate cremeaux from Belinda Leong and we'll find a way to put together $250 for a charity dinner. Then there's the "good cause" feel good effect: Share Our Strength is a fiscally responsible charity that raises funds to end childhood hunger. Tasting food from Craig Stoll, Anthony Strong, Jason Berthold, Mark Sullivan & John Madriaga only sweetens the deal. (This writer is a longtime volunteer and one time project manager for SOS).
Wine & Wishes
Where: Art Deco Administration Building on Treasure Island, One Avenue of the Palms (at Clipper Cove Way), 982-9474
When: Sat., Feb. 2, 5 p.m.
Cost: starting at $150
The rundown: Treasure Island, with its stunning views of our fair city, is the setting for the upcoming Wine & Wishes tasting event and winemaker dinner. James Beard award winner chef Roland Passot again heads up this Make A Wish fundraiser, which helps grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. 50 restaurants (A16, AQ, The Girl and the Fig, Parcel 104, Oola) will serve up eats for two hours starting at 5, and you can pay more to stay for the sit down wine dinner by Hoss Zaré, Jeff Baker, Mark Dommen, Suzette Gresham, Emily Luchetti, Angela Gong, and more.
