Where to Eat on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
This Christmas, instead of slaving away in your kitchen for hours making a delicious meal to feed relatives you might not like that much anyway, consider eating out and letting some of the best chefs in the city cook for you instead. On Christmas Eve, Hubert Keller's Fleur de Lys will be serving a four-course dinner for $110 per person, Hakkasan will be serving their standard a la carte menu, and Tyler Florence's Wayfare Tavern will be serving a $65 prix fixe menu as well as their standard a la carte menu. 
Wouldn't you rather go somewhere fancy and historic for Christmas dinner, like the Laurel Court at the Fairmont?

Also on Christmas Eve, Salumeria will be preparing a traditional Italian "Feast of Seven Fishes" consisting of eight seafood courses prepared by chef Thomas McNaughton, Absinthe has planned a special Christmas Eve brunch service, and if you are really feeling festive, for $88 a person you can board the Hornblower Christmas Eve Supper Cruise and enjoy a dinner buffet, cash bar, dancing, and the simple fact that you are floating around the bay on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas Day both Sutro's and the Bistro at San Francisco's historic Cliff House will be serving special menus, Luce will be serving a four-course dinner for $85, Campton Place will have a $115 five-course dinner, and Laurel Court at the Fairmont Hotel will feature a $55 Christmas dinner buffet complete with Dickensian carolers. Bob's Steak and Chop House in the Omni Hotel will be serving their standard menu, as will Ame in SOMA, Cafe de la Presse in the FiDi, and almost every seafood joint near Fisherman's Wharf (Crab House at Pier 99, Fog Harbor Fish House, Cioppino's on the Wharf, Franciscan Crab Restaurant, McCormick and Kuleto's).
