Hapa Ramen Chef Richie Nakano's Wüsthof Video, Plus Pop-Up Tomorrow at Wing Wings
Monday afternoon break time: Watch this new video for Wüsthof Knives & Cutlery that chronicles Richie Nakano's journey to open Hapa Ramen, the pop-up noodle shop that is opening a brick-and-mortar on Fillmore sometime next spring. In the video, he talks about the insanity of starting a food business from scratch, the three- and four-day stretches when he was just starting out and his wife couldn't use the stove, and his philosophy toward being a chef and collaborating with his team. Oh and lots of shots of him using Wüsthof knives.

The video is part of Wüsthof's new Wüsthof Edge campaign, which also features butcher Camas Davis as "The Poet" and chef Jonathan Sawyer as "The Believer." (Nakano is "The Rebel.")
If the video made you hungry for ramen (and it did us!), you should go to the Hapa Ramen pop-up tomorrow evening at Wing Wings in the lower Haight from 6-10 p.m. Or you can always catch them at the Ferry Plaza farmers market -- follow the Hapa Ramen Twitter feed for up-to-the-minute information.
