Ice cream and cookie taco by C.R.E.A.M.
If you've been on Berkeley's Telegraph Avenue on a weekend afternoon over the past two years, you've encountered lines to rival any popular East Bay nightclub at C.R.E.A.M. (Cookies Rule Everything Around Me), a cookie and ice cream sandwich shop that gets its name from a classic Wu-Tang Clan song. Where two corporate companies with tasty dessert items have failed in this corner retail space (cookie queen Mrs. Fields Cookies and cream puff daddy Beard Papa), this family-owned business based on a mother's recipes has thrived.

The Shamieh family is now vetting serious inquiries to the newly available national franchise opportunities (more info on the C.R.E.A.M. site). Gus Shamieh has also hinted that the family will open more Bay Area locations themselves, with San Francisco on their wish list. With its large variety of customization possibilities (including taco shell-shaped cones) as well as vegan and gluten-free offerings, it would be a perfect fit for this city and many others.
