All-You-Can-Drink Craft Beer? Sounds Like Our Kind of New Year's Party
Plenty of places are offering tasting menus this New Year's, but if you love beer this one sounds like one of the most fun -- The Monk's Kettle will be closed on New Year's Eve in order to throw a giant "Tap Into the New Year" party instead, and the bar's excellent beers will be flowing all night. Cost may seem a little steep at $175 per person, but it's all-inclusive, meaning your food, drinks, tax, and gratuity is all taken care of, so all you need to do is wear your beer-drinking shoes (or wine-drinking shoes, if you're into that sort of thing). Plus there will be passed appetizers and small plates, and at midnight, everyone will toast with Malheur Brut (a biere de champagne).
Spend New Year's Eve at The Monk's Kettle.
Food includes platters of house-made charcuterie and local cheeses; passed bites like sliders, arancini, raw and fried oysters, marrow-buttered popcorn, and bacon-wrapped prawns; small plates like seared scallops, beef strip loin, grilled quail, and gnocchi with chanterelles. For dessert, gingerbread cupcakes, chocolate truffles, marcona almond shortbread, and Three Twins' ice cream sandwiches.
