Off the Grid Returns to Front & Vallejo

In its continuing quest to take over the world (not that we mind), Off the Grid has re-opened its lunchtime market near Levi's Plaza after a five-month hiatus. We stopped by the food truck gathering at Vallejo and Front to check out the scene and get some grub. There were five trucks in all, and after considering the options from Sanguchon, The Fish Tank, Cheese Gone Wild, and Cookie Time (sugar cookies for lunch were tempting!), we went with the sisig from Hapa SF -- basically meat and rice taken to the highest plane of being.

The market will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and participating rotating trucks will include: Vesta Flatbread, Southern Sandwich, Voodoo Van, An the Go, Phat Thai, Mayo & Mustard, El Sur, Babaloo Cuban Truck, Kasa Indian, Liba Falafel and Kinder's BBQ.

If you don't work nearby or don't want to take your food back to your desk, we recommend the Levi's Plaza-adjacent park a few blocks south on Battery (between Union and Lombard) for all your relaxing-in-the-grass needs.
