New Delhi Marks a Quarter Century in Business
New Delhi Restaurant's 25th Anniversary Party![]()
Yelp/Sush G.
Where: New Delhi Restaurant, 160 Ellis (at Cyril Magnin), 397-8470
When: Sun., Nov. 18, 6-9 p.m.
Cost: $40 suggested donation (email ranjan@newdelhirestaurant.com to RSVP your attendance)
The rundown: A quarter century of business near Union Square has brought dignitaries, spiritual leaders, and culinary legends into New Delhi Restaurant. On this night, chef/owner Ranjan Dey transforms the spacious and elegant eatery into what he calls the "Compassionate Chefs Cafe" for a benefit party that also doubles as a 25th anniversary celebration. It's not scientifically proven that love makes food taste better, but there's something intangibly special about the rendering of Indian classics and new creations that Dey serves up.

This party will have a Bollywood dance feel thanks to live music from Electric Vardo with DJ Amar and dance performances by DholRhythms. All proceeds will be split between the
Tenderloin After School Program here in San Francisco and the Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad, India.
