Hog Island Oyster Co. Now Accepting Limited Holiday Mail Orders
Fresh oysters are a time-tested holiday tradition in homes across the country, and as of yesterday the superlative Hog Island Oyster Co. started accepting orders for nationwide Christmas and New Years Eve shipping. The farm only has capacity for 100 orders per holiday on a first-come, first-serve basis, so if you have a hankering for some salty, succulent bivalves this holiday season, get your order forms in early.

You can order one or a combination of 50 extra-small sweetwaters ($38), 50 Atlantic oysters ($55), five or 10-pound bags of manila clams ($30/$60), and extras like a shucking knife and glove ($20) and the Hog Island Oyster Lover's Cookbook ($28) that would make great gifts.
Christmas orders need to be in by Dec. 13, and will ship Dec. 20 to arrive on Dec. 21. New Years orders need to be in by Dec. 20, and will ship Dec. 27 to arrive on Dec. 28. Forms are available on the Hog Island website, which also has information on how to handle and store live oysters, clams, and mussels.
