Evil Jerk Cart's new business cards.
Lisette Titre began Evil Jerk Cart in October 2009 amidst a wave of local street food carts and folding tables. Almost exactly three years later, Titre is relaunching the business as a formalized (read: legal) catering service and pop-up food vendor. Her first appearance will be at Oakland's Art Murmur from 5-10 p.m. on December 7.

A woman of many talents, Titre is also an accomplished digital artist with more than a decade of experience in character and environment modeling and special effects for big AAA games like The Simpsons, Tiger Woods Golf, and The Godfather 2. She sounds excited to be taking her food business to the next level.

She decided against a brick and mortar model in favor of the traveling life."I wanted to stay mobile because doing public events will help expose more people to Caribbean food which is pretty scarce in the Bay," she says. "If you have had the pleasure of going to an island like Jamaica, Antigua, or Trinidad you know how flavorful, fresh, and affordable Caribbean street food can be. Evil Jerk Cart will be focused on bring the very best Caribbean street food dishes to Northern California."

Her staples of Evil Jerk chicken, vegan Ital stew, coconut rice and beans, and fried plantains are now joined with new items like shrimp pepper pot soup, Eschoviche red snapper, and various green curries wrapped in a roti shell as rotating specials. The Evil Twitter feed will stay updated with her future pop-up ventures.
