Miso sesame Rice Krispies treats by DeLise Dessert Cafe.
The husband and wife team of Dennis and Eloise Leong run the three-year-old DeLise Dessert Cafe, an intimate place for sweets in the Fisherman's Wharf area. The below-the-radar spot serves some of the city's best ice cream, cupcakes, and bars with frequent seasonal twists. Luckily, one of our favorites does not have a favored time of year and tends to be available frequently.

DeLise was a lifesaver last week when we needed some supplementary dessert bits for Thanksgiving in the form of pecan macarons, sweet potato maple cheesecake bars, and apple pie ice cream. But we also bought a half dozen of their Rice Krispies treats and did not share them with a single person.

The subtle inclusion of black sesame seeds and miso paste make them richer than the classic version without sacrificing that crucial crunch and marshmallow chewiness, but you'll still want to mow down a stack of them in one sitting. Greed isn't a great quality to foster, but we don't care when we have a bag of these by our side.
