Brave the Rain for a Colombian Pop-Up Lunch at SFMOMA Today
A few weeks ago we wrote about SFMOMA's circus-themed pop-up lunch in conjunction with its Paul Klee show. Today the museum is hosting a Colombian pop-up lunch from Maité Catering as part of its Here, There, and Elsewhere: Assembling Communities festival. Maité will be serving cheese and beef arepas (filled cornmeal patties; $4-7) and traditional ajiaco soup, a hearty blend of chicken, potatoes, and herbs including guasca (a traditional American weed used in the soup as an aromatic herb; $7). Sounds like a cure for the rainy day blues to us.
Maite Catering Ajiaco soup from Maite Catering: Perfect for a miserable day like today.

As you eat, you can listen in to conversations by artists in the exhibition Six Lines of Flight, and if you want to participate, there will be a drawing challenge (with prizes!) to map your creative world.
The museum currently doesn't have any plans to make these lunch pop-ups a regular occurrence -- just to throw them when it makes sense with the exhibits -- but showing up and showing support could certainly help make a case for more delicious intersections between food and art.
SFMOMA Pop-Up Lunch: Colombia
When: Today (Nov. 30), 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Where: The atrium at SFMOMA
Cost: Free admission to the lunch; visiting the exhibits requires a museum ticket. Menu items between $4 and $7.
