Buy Salsa, Support Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts
Sounds like a win-win situation to us: On November 11 (Sunday), Papalote will donate 50% of the sales of its famous Roasted Tomato Salsa to raise money for Hurricane Sandy victims. Owners Miguel and Victor Escobedo and Jodi Hernandez all feel a strong connection to the East Coast, and have decided to use their renowned salsa to help with the Red Cross relief efforts. Remember: this is the salsa that was once declared a "secret weapon" by Bobby Flay in Throwdown!, so this should be a fairly delicious way to show your support.

The original, SerranoTomatillo, and Habanero shelf-stable salsas will be available at Papalote's two locations on Sunday, for the regular retail price of $6.99. Half of the money will go toward the Red Cross. The deal is only valid at the two locations of Papalote Mexican Grill (24th at Valencia, Fulton at Masonic), and doesn't include Papalote homemade salsa jars or shelf-stable salsas sold at other locations.
"We wish we could ship them burritos," says Hernandez. "But we're hoping this will help, and that our friends and neighbors will do what they can as well."
