Chocolate salted rye cookie at Tartine Bakery.
With a cookbook called Deceptively Delicious, Jessica Seinfeld (wife of Jerry) helped to popularize a certain form of cooking where vegetables and other healthy ingredients are slipped into recipes for desserts and other kid-pleasing fare. Tartine Bakery has its own sort of answer to this culinary style by serving chocolate salted rye cookies.

We have to fess up and admit that we probably wouldn't have known there was anything but chocolate in this soft, crackly three-bite cookie if we weren't told in advance. It tastes like an indulgence, not something that's going to help us with our fiber content.

If you do know the rye is there you can probably pick out the flavor faintly chilling in the background, but it's certainly not a jarring taste. Mission accomplished.
