The rundown: Taco My Face will be slanging all month from The Window, Coffee Bar's express takeout area that is home to a rotating lineup of independent vendors. A specific menu is unavailable but Coffee Bar's blog says that TMF will be part of the permanent cafe lineup as it spruces up the Howard Street location.

Cheese of France Pop-Up Cafe
The rundown: Nibble on French cheese dishes made by Commonwealth chef Jason Fox, sip French wine for free, and get drunk before noon if you choose -- as far as promotional events go, this one hosted by the French national cheese board sounds pretty cool.

The rundown: Chef John Farais, a cooking instructor in Marin, translates Native Californian and American ideas from his Indigenous Edibles website into a two-week residency at the Guest Chef. Menu highlights include Mayan corn truffle quesadilla, black walnut soup with elk sausage, cedar-wrapped sturgeon, and bison tri-tip encrusted with pepitos and mushrooms.

The rundown: Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream owner Jake Godby has settled into a general array of extremely comforting American food options (including duck fat Chex mix, fried chicken sandwiches, bourbon and Coke floats) for his monthly pop-up at the gay bar Truck. This month, he introduces a new concept for a Blue Plate Special: Recreating the last meal of famous Death Row inmates. He hasn't settled on a serial killer for this month, yet, but tells SFoodie that even if one of his selected victims ate a Big Mac for their last meal, he'll create his own version of it.
