The rundown: Married chef duo Jen McMahon (executive chef at Da Flora) and Darren Lacy (Orchard Garden Hotel) use JD's Revenge as their space to break free from their main jobs and cook whatever they want. Today, in a nice seven-hour stretch that straddles lunch, dinner, and late-night snacking, it's Creole food such as jambalaya (vegan and omnivore), mini muffaletta sandwiches, crab cakes, and even bacon pralines.

Soul Cocina Day of The Dead Feast
The rundown: Chef Roger Feely built a huge following locally for his masterful handmade street food that explored many areas across the globe before he relocated to Chicago last year. He came back to the area to serve pani puri at Eat Real Fest in Oakland last month, and hosts a six-course Mexican meal at his old home base at La Victoria before heading back to the Windy City. He offers a vegan and an omnivore menu, both featuring huaraches, sopes, and roasted peppers.
Sri Lankan Supper Club
The rundown: Baltimore-based author and music producer Skiz Fernando (Rice & Curry: Sri Lankan Home Cooking) prepares a family-style meal featuring several types of curry (chicken, beet, sour fish), with cocktails featuring Sri Lankan spirit White Lion Arrack. Only a handful of tickets remain for this event.

The rundown: Couples tickets (which were discounted at $100) are sold out, and only a few solo tickets are still available for this inaugural pop-up event hosted by local marketer and "avid cocktailian" Michelle Fitzgerald. She'll set up in a private home to serve drinks such as a Thirsty Crow (an apple pie Manhattan) and a thyme and Champagne-kissed gimlet alongside a three-course meal that features a main choice of toasted butternut squash ravioli or brined pork chop. Fitzgerald has deemed this appropriate for locals or tourists, which might hint at a nice city view.
