Millennium Restaurant Hosts Special Dinner in The Field

Tierra Vegetables
Millennium Restaurant will be recreated at Tierra Vegetables farm on October 28.
Hosting a dinner with a farm is not a completely unusual idea for San Francisco restaurateurs, but such events often feature a lot of meat and animal products, whether a display of whole animal utilization or simply a showcasing of products such as milk and eggs. And so it is worth noting that S.F.'s Millennium Restaurant, a fine vegan establishment, is planning a cruelty-free supper on one of the farms that supplies much of its produce.

Millennium invites guests up to Windsor-based farm Tierra Vegetables (about 90 minutes north of S.F.) on Sunday, October 28 beginning at 3 p.m. for a farm tour, pumpkin carving and five-course family-style meal, all designed to demystify the origins of the food they serve back at the restaurant.

Menu highlights include corn hominy stone soup with fresh vegetables that you'll pick first, black corn tamales with butternut squash puree, and a pumpkin crostata with spiced rum cream. Admission is $60, with optional Old World Winery pairings for $28 or Revive brand kombucha; call Allison at 345-3900x13 to reserve a spot.
