Dinner in a Blindfold

Where: ITK Culinary, 300 Turney (at Bridgeway), Sausalito, 331-8766
When: Fri., Oct. 19, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The rundown: Dining in the dark is often marketed as a sensual experience, but it can also be an exercise in experiencing gratitude for your sight, as we learned a few years ago at a benefit dinner for Foundation Fighting Blindness. In The Kitchen Culinary (or ITK for short) has conceived of a meal experience that falls somewhere in between both of these extremes.

You'll be merely blindfolded as you enjoy a four-course meal cooked by chef Scott Davis. Choose items that appeal to you or leave it up to Davis with a Chef's Special menu, which is kept secret until after the conclusion of dinner, for the full mystery darkness adventure trail. There's no alcohol in the mix, so you won't hurt yourself.

If this happens to fall on a bad date for you, ITK hosts this event semi-frequently so keep an eye on their schedule for future dates.
